Roderick G. Davis has practiced law in Mecklenburg County for over 15 years of his 20-year legal career. Throughout this time, Roderick has championed justice by seeking a fair trial for his clients; maintaining accountability in the legal process; and having a deep and abiding respect for the rule of law.
A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, Roderick attended and graduated from New Hanover County Public Schools. After graduating high school, Roderick attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He worked several years as an accountant and auditor in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. After a successful career in accounting, he received a life changing opportunity to enroll in the North Carolina Central University School of Law. Following graduation from law school, Roderick acted on his passion and commitment to community service, and worked for three years as an assistant public defender in Durham, North Carolina. The experience was extremely rewarding, and he knew that community service would always be a cornerstone of his legal career.
Roderick and his family relocated to Charlotte in 2005 to make the Queen City their permanent home and establish his law office. In his private practice, Roderick has appeared daily in the Mecklenburg County civil and criminal courts and has advocated for and counseled thousands of clients. He has maintained his commitment to service in the community by providing criminal defense to indigent clients, through his membership with the John S. Leary Bar Association where he previously was a board member and treasurer, and serving on other community boards.
While passionate about the justice system, Roderick cherishes his family first and foremost. He and his wife of over 25 years, Melissa, are the proud parents of two school-aged daughters, Lauren (16) and Ryanne (12).
